Passive Safety System. Innovative solutions for the road industry.

The team at the Industrial Technologies Center has successfully completed the task set by the state company Russian Highways (Avtodor) and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation: creating a cable-type passive safety system with a containment capacity equivalent to a standard (barrier) system for 1st category roads (highways).

A product has been developed that surpasses global counterparts in its characteristics.

EXPANDING THE RANGE OF CABLE BARRIERS BEING DEVELOPED with a containment capacity of up to 360 kJ and a permissible level of INJURY SEVERITY!

New barriers utilizing our cables, without compromising safety, enable:
A 30-50% reduction in barrier cost compared to metal structures.
A multiple-fold reduction in maintenance and post-accident restoration costs.

After an impact, the cable and its anchorage (the most expensive elements) remain undamaged. Only the posts are replaced (within 2 hours), reducing ownership costs several times over!

Our product has, FOR THE FIRST TIME, made it possible to create a fully Russian-made barrier!

In locations where the installation of other barriers was impossible (e.g., due to limited space in the median) on roads with opposing traffic flows, cable barriers have demonstrated high effectiveness in reducing fatalities caused by vehicles crossing into oncoming lanes.
