Lightning Protection Wire MZ, manufactured according to STO 71915393 062-2008 (construction 1×36 (1 + 7 + 7 / 7 + 14))
The lightning protection wire is the first specifically designed to protect overhead power lines from direct lightning strikes. It is manufactured in diameters from 8 to 22.5 mm, with tensile strength grades ranging from 1770 N/mm² to 1970 N/mm², and is zinc-coated to the "OZh" group specification with a +5% tolerance. It retains all original properties and full operational capability after a lightning strike of 147 C, possessing the following distinctive characteristics:
· Absolute resistance to lightning strike within 98.8% of real load ranges.
· No reduction in strength and no ruptures or melting of wires in the base metal observed after lightning strikes of up to 147 C.
· High corrosion resistance due to the innovative "OZh" group zinc-coating method with +5% tolerance and a reduced total surface area of the wire exposed to the environment.
· Increased tensile strength compared to standard cables while maintaining the same diameter (180 kgf/mm² - 200 kgf/mm²), ensuring significantly enhanced reliability, which is particularly important for dead-end structures and during ice formation.
· Service life increased nearly 2-fold, with a 5-times longer guaranteed service life compared to standard cables – up to 40 years.
· The compacted stranding technology applied during manufacturing according to STO 71915393-TU 062-2008 ensures reduced relative elongation, which minimizes sag during operation.
· Unlike standard steel cables, the lightning protection wire (MZ), manufactured in accordance with STO 71915393-TU 062-2008 technical specifications, remains operational even in areas with a high probability of strong lightning discharges throughout its guaranteed service life.
Sole manufacturer: JSC Severstal-metiz.
The manufacturer and supplier guarantee, if required, the participation and supervision of plant specialists during the installation of the lightning protection wires, as well as continuous after-sales monitoring.
Currently, JSC TDS Electrosetyastroiproekt has developed a complete set of fittings for connecting and attaching the lightning protection wires on overhead power lines.
Analogs: Has no analogs. All existing products currently positioned as lightning protection wires in the Russian Federation, in terms of technical parameters (strength, lightning protection, and service life), are analogs of steel cables according to GOST 3063.
Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) for protecting overhead electrical networks from direct lightning strikes and for establishing fiber-optic communication lines
The OPGW is manufactured in diameters from 8 to 22.5 mm, with fiber count from 12 to 96, and tensile strength grades ranging from 1770 N/mm² to 1970 N/mm². It is zinc-coated to the "OZh" group specification with a +5% tolerance and retains all original properties and full operational capability after a lightning strike of 110 C, possessing the following distinctive characteristics:
· Absolute resistance to lightning strike within 98.8% of real load ranges.
· No reduction in strength and no ruptures or melting of wires in the base metal observed after lightning strikes of up to 110 C.
· High corrosion resistance due to the innovative "OZh" group zinc-coating method with +5% tolerance and a reduced total surface area of the wire exposed to the environment.
· The optical module (ISO 9001-2000 certified) possesses extremely high mechanical and thermal strength, including in the event of a lightning strike or short circuit. The tube is made from a special stainless steel strip.
· Increased tensile strength while maintaining the same diameter (180 kgf/mm² - 200 kgf/mm²), ensuring significantly enhanced reliability, which is particularly important for dead-end structures and during ice formation.
· Service life increased nearly 2-fold, with a 5-times longer guaranteed service life compared to standard cables – up to 25 years.
· The compacted stranding technology applied during OPGW manufacturing ensures reduced relative elongation, which minimizes sag during operation.
· The OPGW remains operational even in areas with a high probability of strong lightning discharges throughout its guaranteed service life.
