Moscow hosted the 11th annual International Scientific and Technical Conference "Development and Enhancement of Electric Grid Reliability" – the most effective direct dialogue platform for industry community representatives. The conference was organized by Rosseti PJSC and the journal "ELECTRIC ENERGY. Transmission and Distribution," with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The exhibition held alongside the conference showcased developments from over 50 organizations, and was visited by more than 1,500 industry specialists, including chief engineers from all subsidiaries of Rosseti PJSC, RusHydro PJSC, and specialized research and technical centers from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, and other countries. Discussions were also held on legislation and the improvement of regulatory documents in the electric power sector, with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Energy, Rosseti PJSC, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosprirodnadzor, and Technical Inspection of the UES JSC.
The plenary session featured addresses by E.P. Grabchak, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; E.V. Lyapunov, Deputy General Director – Chief Engineer of Rosseti PJSC; S.B. Kondratiev, Deputy General Director – Chief Engineer of RusHydro PJSC; N.D. Rogalev, Rector of NRU "MPEI"; as well as representatives of Rostechnadzor and the CIS Electric Power Council.
In his report, Evgeny Lyapunov spoke about the current objectives for the technological development of the industry. Across 6 thematic sessions, experts delivered over 70 presentations.
The issues and directions covered by the conference, as well as the topics discussed in its sessions, consistently generate great interest among representatives of the electric power industry and related sectors.
The outcomes of the discussions in the thematic sessions were presented at the final plenary meeting.
IndTechCenter LLC once again took an active part in the conference and the thematic exhibition. At the company’s booth, a series of presentations were held demonstrating the performance efficiency of innovative conductors on thousands of kilometers of 0.4–500 kV overhead lines (OHLs) in various regions of the country, including in terms of enhanced reliability and lightning resistance, reduced loads on all OHL components, and lower costs – both for reconstruction and new construction. CEO Viktor Fokin also presented interim R&D results carried out under the Rosseti Yug PJSC program on the prospects of using compact high-temperature ACVT conductors in regions with high ambient temperatures, as well as the results of using MZ lightning protection wires as guy wires for 220–500 kV OHL supports. The effectiveness of these technical solutions was recognized by Alexander Kuzmin, Deputy Head of the Electrical Equipment Department of Rosseti Central Infrastructure Management of the Unified Energy System JSC, during the CIGRE Russian National Committee session held within the conference framework.
The prospects for replicating the positive experience of using innovative ANVP, SIP-2, and SIP-3 conductors in Rosseti PJSC's subsidiaries (Moscow Region, South, and Kuban) in other power systems were discussed. Viktor Fokin also presented conductor options for a DC overhead line project.
During the exhibition walkthrough, participants repeatedly noted the proactive efforts of electrical equipment manufacturers in ensuring the industry's technological sovereignty, as well as the manufacturers' responsiveness in addressing the recommendations and wishes expressed during last year's Exhibition and Conference.
